Book Club: Energy Magick
I love reading. When I was a kid I read our set of World Book Encyclopedia and the Dictionary (only child, don’t judge). I read most of my classroom libraries growing up, and I am still an avid reader. That being said, books are just a means to an end.
The power of books for me comes from the knowledge and perspective they provide- the doors of perception and the windows to the World. This knowledge is great to a
cquire, harness, and apply. Oftentimes this is a solitary activity.
I am going to mix things up a little bit (what do you expect, the closest deity relationships I have are with tricksters).
I want to be known as a writer and teacher that is approachable. I do not want to sit in some lofty wizard’s tower looking down on the people I serve. I am a student like you, and honestly I learn so much by teaching- I should be paying all of you. In that spirit of making knowledge more social, learning together, and creating something fun to do- I am creating a book club for Energy Magick.
Purposes of the Book Club
- Answer Questions. Part of the purpose of this is that when I read metaphysical books- I often have questions and I would have summoned all 72 Goetic spirits at once to have them answered! I want to be approachable and clear up any confusion that may arise from lack of writing skill or just being in my head too much (I am only in a human body, usually).
- Community. Reading alone is great, but talking about what you read with others is just plain fun. I want you to have fun while you are working through this material. It is the invisible classrooms such as this that so much learning and growth can take place!
- Refine the Work. I know I may have made some honest mistakes. For example, a new friend of mine that is a tantric teacher said some of my stuff with chakras was not completely correct. As I see what I did wrong, I will update a separate blog post with the revisions. It is my hope that these edits will be made into a “revised” edition or (gods bless me) an anniversary edition.
- Learn From You. I learn from teaching, not just because I get to reexamine what I thought or believe, but I learn from new perspectives and other people’s experiences.If I have learned anything, it is that diversity of thinking can do great things.
Two Book Club Sessions
There will be two book clubs, each for thirteen weeks.We will cover the book chapter by chapter (except the first one will cover the introduction and Chapter 1) The first will be a weeknight one and the second will be on weekends. If none of these work for you, please let me know and I will try to do a third one in the winter (Northern hemisphere) of 2025. Each book club is independent of each other. Meetings will be conducted by Zoom and the meeting information will be below. IF you have any problems- I will be available via messaging on Instagram (info on the footer of the home page)
PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at each meeting is not mandatory. All I ask is that you have read the chapter beforehand.
